What Hassett said on financing
Hassett told CNBC the money behind artificial intelligence projects looks ample, describing AI as "a really well-financed ecosystem." He said "There's so much cash in the ecosystem that I think that people should be reassured," even with recent volatility.
He also noted that while "some companies that maybe have a lot of debt, and you kind of worry about" them, there are "really, really big-pocketed companies sort of lurking all over the place, owning the equity, owning the debt, perhaps willing to pounce if somebody has trouble."

Market backdrop and risks
Hassett's comments came after last week's slide in technology stocks that pushed the Nasdaq Composite to its lowest mark since July. He framed the drop as a normal breather after a run, saying "Sometimes things need to go down a little bit" and adding, "I don't think that there's a risk of a wholesale selloff at all."
Why it matters for your portfolio
In plain English: Hassett sees deep-pocketed investors and corporate balance sheets as a backstop for AI spending, even if a few highly levered players wobble. That perspective suggests AI infrastructure plans may keep moving, with consolidation risk more than systemic risk.
