Euronext taps NN Group's David Knibbe to succeed Boujnah as CEO

Published Nov 2, 2026
Share:
Summary:
  • Euronext NV plans to bring in NN Group's David Knibbe to serve as the company's next chief executive officer.
  • Shareholders will consider the formal nomination at the May 20 annual meeting, and Stéphane Boujnah is slated to exit in May 2027.
  • NN Group said Knibbe will depart on March 1 and that it plans to name Tjeerd Bosklopper as CEO.

What happened

Euronext said Monday it will bring in David Knibbe as its next CEO, after what it called a "thorough and diligent selection process." Knibbe's formal nomination will come before shareholders at the May 20 annual general meeting.

Boujnah's deal talk, then a reality check

For 12 years, Stéphane Boujnah has been at the helm of the bourse and has championed expansion by acquisition, even floating the idea of buying London Stock Exchange Group or Deutsche Boerse. Last month he tempered that talk, saying there is no appetite for deals at those European rivals, which dims the odds of a near term takeover.
