Down 29 points, the Knicks looked finished. Then they weren't.
New York stormed back to win Game 4 of the NBA Finals 107-106. It was the biggest comeback the Finals has ever seen.
The Comeback
No team in Finals history had ever climbed out of a hole deeper than 24 points. The Knicks fell behind by 29 and did it anyway.
New York had taken the first two games in San Antonio, then dropped Game 3 at home. This answer came right when the Knicks needed it most.
The Spurs led most of the night before the whole thing slipped away. San Antonio went cold late and watched a sure win disappear.
OG Anunoby carried the rally with 33 points, then tipped in the winner with 1.2 seconds left. Jalen Brunson added 36 points, while Victor Wembanyama led the Spurs with 24 points and 13 rebounds.
Wembanyama was a wall on defense and a problem on offense all series. It still wasn't enough once the Knicks found their range.
Brunson ran the show down the stretch and kept the Knicks calm. The win puts New York up 3-1, one more from the city's first title since 1973.

The Crowd Was Its Own Show
Madison Square Garden looked less like an arena and more like an awards show. A basketball game just happened to break out.
Taylor Swift sat courtside in a Knicks tee, next to actress Mariska Hargitay and the Haim sisters. Nearby sat Timothee Chalamet and Kylie Jenner in matching outfits.
Spike Lee, Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Tracy Morgan, and Jerry Seinfeld filled out the row. Chris Rock, Fat Joe, and Hailey Bieber turned up too.
Hargitay has become a regular through a friendship with Jalen Brunson. Ben Stiller filmed warm-ups on his phone, reportedly for a documentary.
Rapper Nas sat with the regulars, while Knicks legend Patrick Ewing watched from the stands. Then the Wu-Tang Clan played the halftime show.
The official list ran past 100 names, from Kevin Jonas to actor Rainn Wilson. Jimmy Fallon spent much of the night hyping up his courtside section between plays.
After The Buzzer
The party didn't stop when the clock did. Taylor Swift danced with the Haim sisters and fans in custom Knicks shirts.
One shirt read Stevie Knicks, because of course it did. Fans erupted, and the party kept going long after the buzzer.
For one night, the Garden was the loudest room in sports.
Worth Noting
Game 5 is in San Antonio next, and one win there ends a 53-year title drought. Lose it, and the series returns to New York for Game 6.
A title would be New York's first since the Nixon years. New York hasn't been this loud in a long time.
