What's kicking off now
Once Labor Day passes in the US, the IPO machine typically shifts into higher gear, and this year is no exception. Anthropic PBC is getting the most attention, but it is not alone. Potential registrants span AI cloud provider Nscale, electricity solutions firm Aggreko Plc, as well as Oura Health Oy, a consumer medical‑tech company.
What insiders are seeing
On Bloomberg Deals, Lise Buyer, who founded Class V Group, said companies eyeing listings are in execution mode: "Most of them are heads down focused on getting the numbers in order, looking at the marketplace." She added, "Nobody is particularly trying to time around Anthropic ... because timing is always uncertain."
Joining that segment were Ajay Shah, who leads technology investment banking as chair at Deutsche Bank AG, and Matt Kennedy, a senior strategist at Renaissance Capital; they said Anthropic is nearing completion of an increase that would take its revolving credit facility up to $15 billion. Shah highlighted investor appetite across AI touchpoints, saying, "There are interesting areas in AI that would really pique investor interest, whether it is in the data center space, power cooling, consumer health or what have you." Kennedy noted a split among issuers: "We've seen some companies decide to wait for the optimal conditions," while "In other cases they are looking at the market as good enough."

The Anthropic bar to clear
Anthropic is aiming to match or top Elon Musk's SpaceX, which achieved a record $86 billion‑plus valuation with its June IPO. Kennedy said investors were willing to grant SpaceX the valuation it wanted based on profits expected years down the line. "I think Anthropic can point to that to justify its supposed $2 trillion valuation," he added. Open AI is likewise anticipated to debut an offering that ranks among the biggest ever either this year or in the next.
What it means for your money
If you follow new listings, the pipeline is getting busier as the calendar winds down, even with cross‑currents like pricier oil, ongoing wars, and the risk of higher rates. Big‑ticket AI names are testing how much investors will pay for growth that might not show up for years. For regular portfolios, that means plenty of headlines and some splashy debuts, but also a reminder to weigh the story against the timing and the broader macro backdrop.
