Grok Bot crosses 418,000 weekly users a month after launch as SpaceXAI leans into agents

Early traction, with a London check-in

Roughly a month after rollout, SpaceXAI's Grok Bot has cleared the 400,000 mark, clocking 418,000 weekly users as of Sept. 14. That figure came from slides shown at an event in London and from people present, and the deck viewed by Bloomberg News indicated a 24% gain from the prior week. The latest weekly tally was not disclosed.

Grok Bot is separate from Grok, SpaceXAI's main chatbot. SpaceX did not answer requests for comment.

What the agent actually does

Introduced in mid-August, Grok Bot is pitched as a constant coworker rather than a traditional chat interface. It can reply to emails, update a sales CRM, process invoices, organize projects, and file software bugs.

SpaceXAI's broader AI push

In the last three months, SpaceXAI has accelerated releases of models and agent tools, following its $60 billion acquisition of the AI coding firm Cursor. In July, the company rolled out Grok 4.5, optimized for coding, finance, and legal workflows, and set its price to come in below many competitors. Earlier this week it unveiled Grok 4.7, designed to handle tougher tasks for longer stretches.

How it stacks up in the agent race

Investors zeroed in on AI agents this week after Meta's Muse climbed to the top spot among free apps in Apple's App Store, prompting comparisons to the way ChatGPT took off in late 2022. Muse targets consumers and is free to download. Grok Bot is aimed at enterprises, bundled across multiple subscription tiers, and also sold on its own. According to Bloomberg Intelligence, total installs of Muse to date are four times those of SpaceXAI's tool.
