Brookfield Raises $25 Billion in Q3 as It Backs AI Infrastructure Build-Out

Published Nov 6, 2026
Share:
Summary:
  • Brookfield Asset Management brought in $25 billion during Q3, with credit and infrastructure leading the inflows.
  • Distributable earnings rose by 15% to $763 million, coming to 47 cents per share and roughly in line with the average analyst estimate.
  • Fee-bearing capital reached $682 billion, up 13% year over year, and fundraising totaled $123 billion through September.

Fundraising and Earnings at a Glance

Brookfield Asset Management pulled in $25 billion in the third quarter, with credit and infrastructure doing most of the heavy lifting as the firm positions itself to bankroll AI build-outs. Distributable earnings climbed 15% to $763 million - 47 cents per share - which essentially matched the average analyst estimate, Bloomberg data show.

Fee-bearing capital hit $682 billion, up 13% from a year earlier. Through September, the firm, based in New York, collected $123 billion. "Our fundraising is showing no signs of slowing down and is indicative of the record level of activity we are seeing across our business," Chief Executive Officer Connor Teskey said Friday.

Building the Pipes for AI

Brookfield is leaning into the infrastructure behind artificial intelligence, with stakes in Bloom Energy and Compass Datacenters among its bets. In May, Compass Datacenters dropped plans for an 800-plus acre site in Virginia's Prince William County.

The firm said it had recently struck a deal to co-develop and run a data center in the UK. In Korea, it entered an agreement with Nvidia Corp. and Naver Corp. for AI computing infrastructure financing that could total $9 billion. Beyond that, Brookfield collected about $10 billion spanning its inaugural AI infrastructure fund and its infrastructure debt strategy.

Politics, Sentiment and the Tape

Even as money piles into AI infrastructure, pushback is rising. Democrats scored a Congressional victory in Tuesday's midterms on a pledge to tighten oversight. On Thursday, AI-linked names were the weakest group in a broad selloff as the Nasdaq 100 slid more than 6%.

By 11:28 a.m. in New York, Brookfield's stock was down just under 1% at $52.02.

As markets evolve, smart investors explore new tools like AI for an edge. We're hosting our first ever investor livestream on 11/17 to show you how to use ChatGPT and Claude to invest like a pro, hosted by Briefs Finance CEO Jaspreet Singh. Save your seat.

Infrastructure Fund Momentum

Brookfield's infrastructure arm raised $7 billion in the quarter, including $3.4 billion for its flagship fund. After the quarter ended, it added another $13 billion of commitments to that strategy, lifting cumulative capital so far to $26 billion, with a first close expected in the coming weeks.

Addressing analysts, Rene Lubianski - the managing partner for Brookfield's infrastructure group - said, "This puts us well on track to exceed our $30 billion target in early 2027." Teskey noted that reaching that mark would make it the biggest fund Brookfield has ever run.

What It Means for Your Portfolio

Two forces are in play: record commitments to the hardware behind AI, and a political tide favoring more rules. Brookfield is threading that needle with fresh capital and visible deal flow in data centers and AI computing infrastructure. The bottom line: funding momentum is strong, but sentiment can swing fast, and Thursday's more than 6% drop in the Nasdaq 100 showed how quickly AI-linked stocks can get hit.

Learning how AI fits into your process can sharpen decisions and confidence. On 11/17, our CEO Jaspreet Singh goes live for our first ever investor livestream on how to use ChatGPT and Claude to invest like a pro. Register to join him.
