What the firm is built to do
Jalen Brunson and his family are rolling out Thirty Third Management Group as a brand advisory outfit that will handle his off-court ventures while also representing other clients in sports, the corporate world and philanthropic work. The idea, Sandra Brunson said in an interview, stems from how expansive an athlete's public role has become: "It's my experience in this field with Jalen as an NBA player that there are many tentacles to what they want to do in their outreach," adding that the growth of an athlete's persona has increased the "need for this specialized one-on-one attention."
Leadership and first clients
Sandra, who has spent eight years managing her son's business activities, will serve as president. Erica Brunson, Jalen's sister, will lead client services. Beyond Jalen himself, the initial foundation of the client roster will feature his wife, Ali Marks, who operates a physical therapy business, along with Brunson's charitable foundation.
Growth plan and priorities
Sandra Brunson said the team aims to accept as many clients as it can responsibly manage and has already started onboarding a few. A key focus area will be women's professional sports. No outside money was raised to get the company started, though Sandra left the door open to fundraising down the line. As Jalen put it in a press release, "Thirty Third gives us the chance to take ownership of my off-court business, to build something that reflects who we are, and to do it together."

Why "Thirty Third" and what it signals
The name nods to where it all began: Brunson was taken 33rd overall by the Dallas Mavericks in the 2018 NBA Draft, and players selected that late rarely produce the kind of career he has built. Last season he guided the New York Knicks to a long-awaited NBA championship - the franchise's first in 53 years - and earned NBA Finals MVP. For fans of athlete-led ventures, this move points to a family-run platform with room to scale, especially as more sports personalities look for hands-on help with brand building. If you care about where culture and capital intersect, this is one to watch because it hints at more deal flow in women's sports and philanthropy - the kinds of arenas that can shape opportunities for regular consumers, not just pros.
