What happened
Andel Holding A/S, the Danish energy group, has kicked off an overnight accelerated sale of Orsted shares worth around 3 billion Danish kroner, or about $467 million. Terms seen by Bloomberg indicated demand was sufficient to fill the offer shortly after order-taking began. If completed as outlined, Andel's ownership would drop to roughly 3.4% from 5%.
Why now
The move comes about a year after Andel backed Orsted's 60 billion Danish kroner equity raise with a 3 billion kroner investment meant to bolster the company's finances. Since then, Orsted's stock has recovered as the company avoided additional US setbacks and delivered several major wind farms that are expected to support earnings over the coming years.

What this means for your money
Even after this sale closes, Andel will still be Orsted's third-largest owner. Translation: a big holder is taking some chips off the table after a rebound, while the project pipeline looks healthier than it did a year ago. If you watch clean energy names, this is a reminder that large shareholder moves can jolt prices in the short term even when the business outlook is improving.
