What's happening
Belron, the company behind Autoglass, Carglass and Safelite, has begun sounding out investment banks about helping take the business public, according to people familiar. Choosing banks to run an IPO is a pivotal milestone that typically happens anywhere from several months up to a year before the first day of trading.
Where it could list and the timing
People close to the situation said Belron favors Euronext Amsterdam for a float. Bloomberg has previously reported the company could seek a price tag north of €30 billion, or $35 billion, with a launch as soon as next year. This outreach follows D'Ieteren Group's announcement on Wednesday that it is weighing strategic options for Belron, including a potential listing.
Nothing is locked in yet, and specifics such as the exchange could still shift. Spokespeople for Belron and for D'Ieteren declined to comment.

Who owns Belron and how it's performing
D'Ieteren is Belron's majority shareholder. Outside of D'Ieteren's majority stake, ownership is shared by a consortium featuring Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, Hellman & Friedman, along with GIC and BlackRock, per the company's website.
Why it matters for your wallet
If Belron moves ahead, Europe could see one of its heftiest IPOs in years land in Amsterdam. Big listings can reset sentiment for new issues, influence valuations for peers, and set the tone for how much risk investors feel like taking. For everyday investors, it is a reminder to watch how demand for new shares shapes prices and how solid operating results back up splashy numbers.
