The projection and reaction
At a media briefing in Scotland, Jensen Huang said he expects Nvidia to move double the chip volume next year compared with this year. He tied the demand to AI's broad benefits, adding, "The reason for that is because AI has, has so much contribution to the benefits of different industries, different economies, and you can see that in almost every single country that we're in, people want to invest in AI." The comment fits with Nvidia's view that momentum stretches through the next six quarters, and it came after guidance that pushed analysts to lift their forecasts.
How that ties to the company's numbers and products
Nvidia recently projected around 70% growth for the fiscal year that concludes in January 2028, pegging that at roughly $673 billion. The company does not reveal how many chips it sells overall. Its marquee data center GPUs include the Blackwell and Rubin lines. Huang has previously cited shipment milestones, saying last fall that Nvidia delivered 6 million Blackwell GPUs across four quarters.
What Nvidia makes and who was at the summit
In addition to GPUs, Nvidia's lineup includes CPUs, switch silicon, optical networking gear, laptop processors, Jetson units built for robotics and automotive uses, and the processor powering Nintendo's Switch 2 gaming console. Huang shared the stage in Scotland with the U.K.'s King Charles III and representatives from Google DeepMind, OpenAI, and Anthropic to discuss the state of AI and safety.

Safety talk and what it means for your money
Huang has repeatedly weighed in on AI safety in recent weeks, with debate intensifying after some researchers warned that people can no longer control the most advanced systems. His view was blunt: "When a product is not safe, we should hold it back and keep engineering it." For everyday investors, the takeaway is simple to track: booming AI demand on one side, and rising scrutiny on the other. Together, those currents can shape how fast orders turn into revenue and how durable that growth looks.
