IPO debut and market reaction
Iambic's first trading session delivered a nearly 18% pop, with the stock closing at $18.91 after being priced at $16. At that finish, the company's value comes in around $896 million when you tally it against outstanding shares. Shares trade on the Nasdaq Global Select Market using the ticker IAM.
Who backed the offering
The deal raised $150 million and was run by JPMorgan Chase & Co., Jefferies Financial Group Inc., Bank of America Corp. and Citigroup Inc. ARK Investment Management, already an Iambic investor, and billionaire Stanley Druckenmiller's Duquesne Family Office indicated interest in buying up to $60 million of stock in total.
What Iambic does and who it works with
Based in San Diego, Iambic applies artificial intelligence and machine learning to discover new medicines, with a focus on oncology. It has a collaboration with Abbvie Inc. aimed at speeding AI-enabled drug discovery across immunology, neuroscience and oncology, and works with Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. and H. Lundbeck A/S. Its partner roster includes Nvidia Corp. as well as the AI cloud company Lambda Inc. Investors are leaning into the broader theme that AI could accelerate biological breakthroughs, and Iambic plans to direct IPO funds toward progressing three oncology programs that are in early stages.
Money picture and ownership shifts
For the first half of 2026 through June 30, an earlier filing showed Iambic reported $12.8 million in revenue and a net loss totaling $50.1 million, compared with a $33.2 million net loss on $3.9 million in revenue over the same stretch the prior year. Since its 2019 founding, the company has raised $461.8 million from tech and healthcare investors; Nvidia participated in several convertible preferred stock financings. Following the IPO, Catalio Capital Management's ownership is projected to fall to 8.9% from 11%, while Nexus Venture Partners is set to move to 6.8% from 8.5%.
