Yeezy returns with a runway show, retail tie-up and a December drop on deck

Published Nov 7, 2026
Share:
Summary:
  • Ye put on a runway show in Los Angeles, his first in more than four years.
  • JD Sports is now selling Yeezy footwear through a joint venture that places select styles in certain stores.
  • Adidas initially said the post-split unwind cost it more than $240 million after the partnership ended in October 2022.

The runway comeback

Ye unveiled Yeezy Season 01 in Los Angeles, a show that appears to mark his first runway outing in over four years. Runway photos from Women's Wear Daily point to a ready-to-wear lineup built around earth tones and glossy leather looks, with models on Wednesday night in leather jackets with high necks, sheer cat suits and knee-high boots. The throughline: the militaristic vibe that has long defined his design language.

Retail moves and the brand's path back

Gap and Adidas cut ties following antisemitic remarks and erratic behavior, and Ye has since apologized.

Since the October 2022 split, Yeezy has pivoted to an independent, direct-to-consumer model. The site now lists a broad slate of products, and a new shoe is expected in December. On Wednesday, the company debuted its Los Angeles flagship, named Droam 1, and last year the brand also launched a meme coin dubbed YZY Money. After a Super Bowl ad last year, the only item left on Yeezy's site was a t-shirt featuring a swastika, and Shopify Inc. removed the site.

When brands reinvent themselves, investors who learn new tools can find fresh opportunities. We're hosting our first ever investor livestream on 11/17 to show you how to use ChatGPT and Claude to invest like a pro, hosted by Briefs Finance CEO Jaspreet Singh. Save your seat.

JD Sports deal and customer demand

Sportswear retailer JD Sports confirmed a joint venture with Yeezy and is stocking select shoes at certain brick-and-mortar locations. "Yeezy is a brand that has generated strong customer interest, and our decision to stock the new Yeezy Slide reflects the level of demand we're seeing," a company spokesperson said.

Investor take

Adidas spent years unwinding the Yeezy relationship and initially flagged a hit of more than $240 million to its bottom line, underscoring the financial stakes when a marquee collaboration sours. Now, with runway visibility returning, a flagship open, a December shoe planned, and distribution through JD Sports, Yeezy is testing whether brand heat can translate into sales using a leaner, direct model. For your portfolio, the watch items are JD Sports' sell-through, Adidas' lingering inventory dynamics, and whether Yeezy's December launch sustains demand beyond a one-off spike.

Staying curious about evolving markets and technologies helps investors build better long term judgment. On 11/17, our CEO Jaspreet Singh goes live for our first ever investor livestream on how to use ChatGPT and Claude to invest like a pro. Register to join him.
