Expansion Plans
Outside Vietnam, the operator already runs services in Laos, Indonesia, India, the Philippines, Denmark and Kazakhstan. The possible US move would come ahead of a planned Hong Kong share sale.
IPO and Ownership
GSM is targeting a Hong Kong IPO in 2028, saying the timetable will depend on market conditions. It did not share names of potential investors. The company has previously said the listing could value it at $20 billion. Known at home as Green SM, GSM is 95% owned by Pham Nhat Vuong, Vietnam's richest person and chairman of Vingroup, and has quickly become one of the country's top ride-hailing players.

Fleet and Strategy
Every GSM cab uses VinFast vehicles, aligning Vuong's electric-car ambitions with his transportation business. That setup effectively gives VinFast a built-in buyer as the automaker steps into more overseas markets. For everyday riders, this could mean more EV-only options popping up in new cities; for your wallet, the bigger story is whether GSM can turn that closed loop into durable scale before it hits the public markets.
