What happened
Revolut launched an unsecured personal loan in the UK now that it operates as a licensed bank. The rollout is phased and the loans are currently available to a limited number of customers. Revolut said the move is part of shifting from a daily payments app toward a full-service bank.
Loan details
Loan sizes run from £2,000 to £25,000 and come with annual interest rates between 6.9% and 29.3%. Borrowers can choose repayment schedules spanning one to five years. Revolut described the process as fast and clear, with near-instant funds on approval and no fee for early repayment.

Why it matters for customers
Francesca Carlesi, CEO of Revolut UK, said, "We've built a transparent and simple loan process with near-instant funds on approval, no fee for early repayment and competitive rates." She also said in June the company planned to introduce five credit cards in Britain "soon." Since getting its licence in March, Revolut has focused on lending to grow interest income.
