IPO path and venue talk
Rohlik is evaluating a stock listing and has begun choosing advisers, with Prague on the table as one route to take the Czech online supermarket public. In a Monday interview, CEO Tomas Cupr said the company may be ready to list as early as next year, and he added that Prague, previously viewed as part of a dual listing, "might just be the only market" given strong local demand from both retail and institutional investors with plenty of capital. He still stopped short of pledging to list.
The company is also weighing other locations. Frankfurt, Amsterdam and London have been previously reported as possible venues for the deal.
Footprint and financial turn
Founded by Cupr in 2014, Rohlik now operates in Germany, Austria, Hungary and Romania. In 2021 it became the first Czech unicorn, meaning a private startup worth at least $1 billion.
Profitability is moving in the right direction. The company posted positive adjusted EBITDA for the fiscal year that ended in April, a metric defined as profit excluding interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization. Cupr expects that improvement to stick, pointing to more automation and a business that is less exposed to increases in labor and energy expenses than traditional retailers.

Expansion and tech bets
Rohlik is considering entering Poland as an online grocer, and it also has plans to move into robotics, according to Cupr. Separately from Rohlik, Cupr is working on artificial intelligence via Duvo.ai, a venture he co-founded that deploys AI agents to automate operational tasks within companies' existing software.
Why it matters for your portfolio
An IPO pitch built on improving unit economics and a home-market listing can draw solid local demand, which matters for pricing and post-listing support. Add potential growth from Poland and efficiency gains from automation, and you have a clearer read on how Rohlik might position itself for public-market scrutiny if it proceeds.
