Deal snapshot
Kraft Heinz outlined plans to exit its North American coffee operation and struck an agreement with One Rock Capital Partners. The package covers brands including Maxwell House and Gevalia, with the business carrying an enterprise value of $650 million. The companies expect to close in mid 2027, and Kraft Heinz intends to hold a 30% noncontrolling equity interest once the transaction is completed.
Strategy and cash use
The company said it plans to apply approximately $500 million of post tax proceeds to pay down debt, part of a push to concentrate spending where it believes growth can accelerate. "This transaction is a meaningful step in unlocking value from our portfolio and will further accelerate the momentum behind our transformation," CEO Steve Cahillane said.
Turnaround moves and outlook
Also Wednesday, Kraft Heinz reported third quarter earnings that topped expectations and lifted its 2026 outlook. It now projects organic net sales to decline by 0.5% to 1.25%, an improvement from the second quarter view that the drop could be as steep as 2%. "Our 2026 operating plan to turn around the U.S. business and accelerate growth internationally is on track," Cahillane said, adding that trends in market share, sales, and volume are improving in every region.
