Centerview taps Elliott alum Bennett Schachter to run capital advisory

Who Bennett Schachter Is

Schachter moved to Elliott Investment Management in 2022, with his LinkedIn listing him as a managing director overseeing capital markets and financing solutions. Before Elliott, he spent 25 years in investment banking at firms including Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and Morgan Stanley. At Morgan Stanley, he was a leading banker in the SPAC arena and ran its alternative and capital solutions businesses.

Co founder Blair Effron added, "As capital flows across the globe become more strategic in nature, our full suite of unconflicted capital solutions is an increasingly important pillar of Centerview's differentiated offering." Schachter noted he has collaborated with Centerview in various capacities and observed the breadth of its relationships.

Where the capital is moving

Centerview is chasing a market where money is tilting toward private strategies, and builders of artificial intelligence infrastructure and data centers are on the hunt for financing. The firm's pitch is that capital has become more strategic, and clients want advice without conflicts as those flows evolve.

Recent Deals That Show The Practice In Action

This month, Centerview counseled Apollo Global Management Inc. and KKR & Co. on securing €3 billion of equity financing from insurance-based pools to back a new joint venture that will house Bayer AG's long-acting reversible contraceptives business. In 2024, it further advised Advance Auto Parts Inc. on selling its Worldpac unit, and handled additional assignments, among them a high-yield bond transaction last year.
