Who Barclays just added
Barclays, the London-based bank, has appointed Scott Glowinski to the role of managing director within its healthcare group, according to an internal memo reviewed by Bloomberg News. A Barclays spokesperson confirmed the memo's details.
The memo was written by Jed Brody, who leads Americas healthcare at the bank.
What he will cover
Glowinski's focus will include healthcare technology companies, along with the venture and private equity investors active in the space. His responsibilities also include working with big technology companies.
Deals on his resume
Glowinski spent more than 10 years at JPMorgan Chase & Co. During his tenure, he advised on the sale of Edifecs Inc. to Cotiviti Inc. last year, as well as Inovalon Holdings Inc.'s 2021 take-private by Nordic Capital.
JPMorgan's spokesperson declined to comment.

Why it could matter for your portfolio
For investors tracking deal pipelines, the takeaway is simple: Barclays is adding senior firepower aimed at health tech and the sponsors and tech giants that finance or partner with it. The hire brings recent transaction experience on both corporate sales and take-privates, which is useful context for how banks are positioning around healthcare and technology activity.
