What changed
Google has increased the price of the Pixel 10a by $100, bringing it to $599. The move was reported by 9to5Google. A Google representative did not immediately reply to a request for comment.
Why prices are moving
Phone makers are still wrestling with a lingering crunch in memory chips that continues to ripple through consumer electronics. In the same vein, Samsung Electronics Co. lifted prices on most Galaxy S26 models by $100 this week. Introduced last month, Apple's iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max come with higher prices than the previous generation, and the company has increased prices on certain older iPhones as well.
How Pixel models compare
The Pixel 10a is positioned as a budget option, delivering only limited gains over 2025's Pixel 9a and running on Google's two-year-old Tensor G4 chip. By contrast, the premium Pixel 11 family uses Google's latest processor and delivers significantly stronger specs and camera performance. Pricing for those flagships begins at $899 and reaches $1,899 for the entry-level Pixel 11 Pro Fold.

Pricing context and history
When Google rolled out the Pixel 11 lineup in August, it set prices $100 higher across the board versus the previous generation, while trying to soften the blow by adding more storage to the base models. With other brands also nudging prices up, the takeaway is simple: if you are phone shopping, expect newer models and even some older ones to come in hotter than last year's stickers.
