The deal and the price
The group offered €15.60 in cash for each InPost share, valuing the company at €7.8 billion, or $8.9 billion. That price was 50% above InPost's Jan. 2 closing level, yet still below where the company debuted in Amsterdam in 2021. The offer began in May and was kept open until Sept. 18 as the parties awaited final regulatory clearances.
Ownership and management after closing
Once wrapped up, FedEx and Advent will each control 37% of the consortium. A&R Investments, the vehicle of founder and Chief Executive Officer Rafal Brzoska, will hold 16%, and PPF Group NV will own 10%. Brzoska is set to stay on as CEO.
What changes next
The consortium plans to remove InPost from public trading in Amsterdam. By Sept. 23 it will announce whether the offer is unconditional and may open a follow-on period for more tenders. If its stake reaches 95%, it can squeeze out remaining investors. Should their ownership remain under 95%, they intend to complete a demerger after closing and wind up the residual entity so they can take over the entire company.

Why it matters for the business and your wallet
For FedEx, the move secures a stronger position in Europe's fast-growing out-of-home delivery market and gives InPost more support to keep expanding its automated parcel locker footprint across the continent. InPost already operates in multiple Western European markets - including the UK - and has expanded in France, Spain, and Italy by purchasing local competitors. If you shop online, more lockers in more places can mean cheaper, simpler deliveries over time, which often filters into the prices you see at checkout.
