What Kalshi Traders Expect
Meta reports quarterly earnings after the bell on Wednesday, and a group of traders on the prediction market Kalshi have placed bets on exactly what the company will bring up on its conference call. Their collective wager says Meta will emphasize two things: cloud computing and smart glasses. They give cloud a 90% chance of being mentioned. Ray-Ban smart glasses sit at 74%.
The odds drop from there. Traders put a 61% chance on the word "silicon" coming up, which would signal talk about Meta's own chips. A mention of "Hyperion" - the name of Meta's data center project in Louisiana - gets just a 27% shot.
And topics that might touch on regulation barely register. The chance Meta brings up age verification is only 15%.

Why Those Topics Stand Out
Meta is building a cloud infrastructure business where it sells computing power to other companies, according to a Bloomberg report earlier this month. That makes "cloud" a natural talking point for an earnings call. The smart glasses push also makes sense. Meta and Ray-Ban's parent company EssilorLuxottica launched a cheaper version of their glasses last month.
On the other side of the coin, social media regulation is a headache Meta would probably rather avoid. The United Kingdom has recently joined other nations in moving to restrict social media access for minors. Bringing up age verification or policy changes on a public call could invite more questions than answers. Traders see only a 20% chance Meta executives even say "prediction market" or "Kalshi" - even though CEO Mark Zuckerberg reportedly directed staff to build a prediction platform and Meta was at one point in talks to acquire Kalshi, according to reports from June and NPR.
What the Betting Patterns Reveal About Meta's Strategy
The bets on Kalshi reflect a broader investor interest in how Meta is positioning itself for future growth. While the company's core advertising business still drives the majority of revenue, executives have increasingly highlighted new revenue streams during earnings calls. Cloud computing has become a particular focus as Meta seeks to compete with established players like Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure. The smart glasses segment, meanwhile, represents a long-term bet on consumer hardware and augmented reality, with the lower-priced model aimed at expanding adoption.
Traders appear to view these high-growth topics as far more likely to be emphasized than regulatory issues, which could distract from the company's growth narrative. The relatively low odds for a Hyperion mention (27%) suggest that the Louisiana data center project, while a major capital investment, is seen as a minor detail for this particular call. Similarly, the 61% chance for "silicon" indicates cautious optimism about Meta's custom chip efforts, which reduce reliance on external suppliers like Nvidia.
Overall, the Kalshi market paints a clear picture: Meta's earnings call will likely spotlight forward-looking technology ventures while sidestepping the political minefield of social media regulation.
