What Bisignano said on TV
Frank Bisignano said Friday on Power Lunch that funding could reach up to 25 million Trump Accounts by mid-October. He did not specify whether that figure includes family and employer contributions or grant programs, such as the Treasury's one-time $1,000 pilot or the $250 Dell grant designated for 25 million children. "We have many more donors that want to be part of this," he said.
Who qualifies and what money is on the table
Launched on July 4, the program's Trump Accounts - officially known as 530A accounts - are available to any U.S. minor under 18 with a valid Social Security number. The Treasury is offering a $1,000 seed deposit for those born in the years 2025 through 2028. On Thursday, the Treasury said more than 60 million children have already been automatically enrolled.
Additional support is lined up. Michael Dell, together with his wife, Susan, has pledged $6.25 billion to back accounts for kids born between 2016 and 2024 who are not eligible for the federal seed deposit. The Dell Foundation says that commitment could support accounts for about 25 million American children.

Who else is stepping up
According to Bisignano, about 72 employers have vowed to match contributions made for their workers' children. He also said donors across multiple states have promised additional gifts for certain qualifying families. Expanding access to these accounts has been a Trump administration priority, and Bisignano was put in charge of spearheading that work.
Why it matters for your money
The launch comes as the midterm elections near, with Democrats ahead in recent national polling. If you have a child who qualifies, the account may already exist, but actually receiving the Treasury's $1,000 deposit and any matches or grants requires claiming it in the Trump Accounts app. The growing mix of employer matches, philanthropic dollars and public seed money could shift how families think about saving for a child's future.
