What the filing says
DayOne has started the path to a US listing after submitting a confidential filing in August. The company plans to list American depositary receipts on the Nasdaq under the ticker DODC. Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Bank of America Corp., and Citigroup Inc. are leading the deal.
The company reported $512 million in revenue and a net loss of $81.9 million for the first half of 2024, compared with $151.5 million in revenue and a $13.5 million loss in the same period last year, according to the SEC filing.
Data center listings are how public investors finally get exposure to AI infrastructure. Market Briefs covers the IPO pipeline free every morning.
Money, investors and market context
Bloomberg News has reported the offering might bring in up to $5 billion at a roughly $20 billion valuation. The IPO queue in data centers is filling up: Switch Inc. aims for a near-$50 billion valuation including debt, and London-based Nscale could raise up to $3 billion, according to people familiar with the matter.
DayOne rebranded last year from GDS International and was once an international affiliate of GDS Holdings Ltd., a Chinese data center operator. GDS remains an investor. Its investor roster also features SoftBank Vision Fund and Citadel's Ken Griffin. In June, DayOne wrapped a $4.5 billion Series C led by Coatue Management and Hillhouse, with Achi Capital Partners and the Indonesian Investment Authority joining as new backers.
