What OpenAI announced
OpenAI said in a Monday statement that it announced 200 new roles in Dublin, signaling fast expansion at the ChatGPT maker's European headquarters. These additions follow 250 positions the company laid out in July and come alongside a current Irish headcount of more than 120. The move marked another sign of rapid growth at its European headquarters.
Where AI companies hire reveals how they plan to serve regions. Market Briefs covers that expansion free every morning.
Who they will hire
The openings span engineering and go-to-market. Technical hires include forward deployed engineers to implement AI applications, plus solutions engineers and privacy engineers. The company is also recruiting for sales and user operations.
Why Dublin matters now
Ireland is the European home base for several tech giants, including Meta Platforms Inc., Apple Inc., and Alphabet Inc. Earlier this month, Fintech Stripe Inc. said it plans to grow its footprint at the Dublin office. Many of the biggest tech firms base their European headquarters in Ireland. The fresh roles add to activity in a capital that has been hit by a run of AI-related job cuts.
