What changed and how Oracle reported it
Ellison added 67 million Oracle shares to the collateral backing his personal loans, according to a regulatory update on Friday. That takes his pledged total to about 36% of his 1.16 billion shares and marks a 19% increase since 2025. Using the $137.10 closing price, the new collateral is roughly $9.2 billion.
Oracle said officers and directors are not allowed to pledge company stock for personal borrowing, with one exception for Ellison, the executive chair and chief technology officer. A company spokesperson declined to comment.
Where the Warner Bros. deal stands
Ellison plays a key role in Paramount Skydance Corp.'s bid to buy Warner Bros. Discovery, a deal pegged at $111 billion. The Ellison family has committed $47 billion in equity to the deal, with roughly $24 billion supplied by three sovereign wealth funds in the Middle East, and Paramount is also seeking debt financing.
Big pay packages in the same filing
Oracle disclosed that its co-CEOs will receive a combined $870 million in stock option awards, with Clay Magouyrk's package valued at $621.7 million and Mike Sicilia's at $248.7 million. The pair were elevated to the co-CEO roles a year ago, succeeding Safra Catz. Ellison - after going the prior two fiscal years without any awards - received a compensation grant worth $117.8 million. Earlier this month, the 82-year-old said he intended to offload up to $7.5 billion of Oracle shares, but he reversed the decision soon after.
