What Nvidia announced
On Wednesday, Nvidia rolled out the DSX Pod AI Factory, a prebuilt container that fits seven Vera Rubin AI racks inside a single unit. The company described the container as comparable to a standard shipping box in size and said it comes in at roughly 28,000 kilograms, or nearly 62,000 pounds.
It is meant to travel on regular roads by truck. Nvidia said the Pod ships with its internal wiring and liquid-cooling loop finished at the factory to shrink onsite work.
How it arrives and is turned on
Ian Buck, Nvidia's vice president for hyperscale computing, told reporters, "The only thing that has to happen when it gets to the site is it's placed in its location, connected to the rest of the other containers, and validated through final burning and testing." That is the setup process as described.
According to Nvidia, the DSX Pod AI Factory cuts the ramp so a new AI data center starts serving tokens in just 14 days rather than six months. The company said it is targeting customers worldwide and that the design may ease deployment hurdles for European customers.
Scope and business moves
Nvidia positioned the DSX Pod as a reference design that will be produced and shipped by its manufacturing partners. The company said it is working with Foxconn, Gigabyte, Lenovo, HPE, Quanta and Pegatron, and expects deliveries to begin in early 2027.
Pricing was not disclosed. Analysts estimate one Vera Rubin rack can cost over 7 million dollars.

The DSX Pod fits into Nvidia's broader shift from just chips to full data center systems, including networking and storage. Its AI portfolio has grown from standalone GPUs to server configurations featuring four or eight GPUs, then to full racks, and now to a containerized module bundling multiple racks.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang recently said on a podcast, "What we offer into one gigawatt went from about $18 billion or so per gigawatt, to $20-something billion per gigawatt, to now $40-plus billion per gigawatt." He also explained that gigawatts refer to data center size by power use, adding, "My sense is that's going to keep going up."
What this means for your portfolio
For investors tracking AI infrastructure, the DSX Pod signals Nvidia pushing further into turnkey systems through partner manufacturing. Watch two metrics as deliveries approach in early 2027: the claimed 14-day deployment window and the per-gigawatt revenue scale Jensen Huang outlined, which frames how much wallet share Nvidia can capture per data center build.
